Finding that path to Wicca

 Hi there,

My name is Dean Bremner, ever since I was sixteen (or possibly younger) I had always felt like there was something more out there. I was asking so many questions, questions that no one could give me the answers to. Like:

"How do we work?"
"If god created us, then who created god?"
"What is a soul?"

I remember watching a film called The Craft, it's about four teenage women who form a coven together but abuse the power that they have. The film is incredible and I would recommend it for entertainment purposes. The film is very "over the top" in a fantasy way but it was the concept of the film that began to trigger something in me that was already there to begin with.

Awakening

With anyone who is on a spiritual path, there is a process called "awakening". What this basically means: You have become AWARE that you are not just a human but there is something in you that is greater. Something that connects you to the divine (or source). New worlds open themselves up to you and you no longer are playing by the same scripts that everyone who isn't awake is playing by. We have not just experienced this one life because we have had many.

Some people believe that we go through life lessons that we would then take on in our next life. This is what helps our soul develop into fulfilment.

When you have that feeling of complete recognition of who you are, then you have started the awakening stage. The next stage is finding your spiritual path to enlightenment. For me, it was Wicca.

What it meant to me to become Wiccan.

Being in nature is somewhere where I can truly be myself. If I am going through something that is quite upsetting I would usually go to my local nature reserve and just sit on a log. I would feel at peace without knowing it... I would be meditating to the sounds of the birds around me. This would be my place of disconnecting from the day to day troubles of mundane life. I knew that there was something different about me and I knew that being in nature felt right, in the years ahead I found out why.

When I started to get to terms with my Wiccan path at the age of 16, I changed my life around and saw things in a different perspective. I was going through a major depression but the deeper I was going with the practice, I started to notice a change in myself and how I saw things in the world that I was living in.

I almost felt like I was a part of something bigger than just this life. My family are all pretty spiritual also, sadly they are not all fully awakened just yet. But I can't help but notice the spark that is within them. My Mum who sadly passed away in 2020 had also come from a spiritual background in her family and she would openly talk about this to me and my siblings. Everything that she would say, I would somehow connect to and would want to explore further.

And one of my sisters have this love for the ancient Egyptians. I remember this sensation that I'd get all over me every time I would see something of them. I knew from a young age that I have a profound connection to them that would go futher later on in my life. I can also see this in my sister.

I found that I would constantly attract people that would come into my life who were on a similar path to what I am.

Awakening can happen to people so quickly and in so many ways. I am interested in how other people out there experienced theirs. Please feel free to put a comment in below with your stories and how you dealt with it.

This is a short post for now until next time...
